Welcome, Y'all
A riverside catfish tradition
Ours is the story of a humble two-room dog-trot cabin that grew into one of the South's favorite restaurants. The famous cabin was once a camp house for the Ezell family, and later the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Ezell. In 1950 it became a full-time eating establishment, and folks have been pulling up a chair ever since.
Tucked on the banks of the Tombigbee River in Lavaca, Alabama, just a few miles from Butler, Ezell's Fish Camp is worth the drive from anywhere. We serve only U.S. farm-raised catfish — held to strict standards for purity and quality and passing the rigors of U.S. safety inspections — alongside fresh seafood, crisp hushpuppies, and homemade Southern fixings.

Worth the Drive
Eat where the locals have eaten for generations
There's something special about a meal on the river. Ezell's has been a gathering place for families, friends and travelers for the better part of a century — a place where the catfish is fresh, the welcome is warm, and the pace is slow in the best Southern way. It's no wonder folks call us one of the best places to eat catfish in Alabama.
Whether it's a weekend supper, a family celebration, or a road-trip detour worth taking, we'd love to set you a place at the table. Read our full story.
